We literally can’t live without food. It is our fuel. But it is also much more than that. We use it to celebrate, to communicate, to commiserate. We use food to break up the day, break up boredom and out of habit. There are so many reasons why we eat the foods we do when we do and each one of us uses food differently.
Managing a health condition through nutrition can be overwhelming without support because food is such an important part of our lives. With support from a dietitian though, you can find ways to use food to improve your health.
FOOD IS PERSONAL
That’s why at the Food and Life Clinic, the approach is personal too. We work with you to understand your eating in the context of your whole life.
We work with you to find easy and achievable solutions to improving your health through nutrition.
While we provide support to clients with a diverse range of health conditions, we specialise in working with people experiencing eating disorders and eating issues, neurodivergence such as Autism and ADHD, mental health conditions and disability.
This support involves deeply understanding the reasons behind how and what someone eats, which is why we bring the same thoughtful, individualised approach to all our clients, no matter what their health condition or concern is.
At The Food and Life Clinic, the approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect. We aim to support long-term, sustainable change - not quick fixes.
Our philosophy of care includes:
Working towards long-term solutions that are meaningful and sustainable in your everyday life
Valuing your lived experience and capacity, using this to guide all nutrition support
Collaborating with you, so you can find your own answers—not just follow one-size-fits-all advice
Providing a safe, judgement-free space where you can speak openly about your relationship with food and body, and your life experiences.
